Disaster

Receive a stunning physical copy of Sleepless Summers. Currently selling the first editions ever! The artwork by Aja Trier is breath taking in print AND comes with a STICKER as well as a hand-written note from Joe.

Composed between 2008 and 2019, these songs all came about from the same general manner: lost Winter nights to depression, self-loathing or drug addiction with the occasional idea that would take root until Summer time could sprout it from darkness. In ways this is a literal metaphor, as many times this album took a backseat as I searched for seasonal inspiration. But I encourage you to take this album track by track as a metaphor for your own growth and struggle through the Winters.

about

lyrics

Keep spinning faster, what's in a name?
It's all disaster, it's all insane.
And so I asked her take me out of this place,
and she said I can't go faster than the blood to your face...

Everything I thought I knew about myself,
was mixed up with the memories of someone else.
The pictures in my head have always been the same,
An image of perfection that I can't maintain.
Twenty years of darkness wasting all my time,
trying to find a dollar to get back in line.
My poverty it comically reveals the truth,
no lying to yourself when you buy drugs not food.

Everything I thought I knew about myself,
was mixed up with the memories of someone else.
I never knew that much until I died that day,
ironically I finally came alive that day.
I never knew that much until I died that day,
ironically I finally came alive that day.
Twenty-seven short years just to die that day,
ironically I finally came alive that day.
